ESTIMATOR

THE POSITION

We Search People are working with a well established General Contractor who are on the lookout for an Estimator to join their team on a permanent basis in their Lanham, MD office.

The successful candidate will have some experience in Commercial projects e.g. Retail, Hospitality, Hotels, Restaurants etc.

The Estimator is responsible for preparing full estimates on assigned projects and provide a complete total bid price in accordance with company policies, construction documents and governmental regulations. Position is responsible for representing the firm with clients, subcontractors, and consultants on virtually any range of subjects related to estimating.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid.
Attend pre-bid meetings
Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to review and write scopes of work for all Construction Trades (Division 1-16)
Ensure sufficient subcontractor coverage for each and every bid.
Ability to review bids against plans to ensure full scope of work is covered,
Prepare bid general conditions and review with operations before bid submittal.
Ability to compile pricing for final bid to owners.
Assist with pricing change orders if required.
Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
Obtains bids from subcontractors.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree is desirable
• 4+ years relevant experience as a Construction Estimator
• Experience in working on Commercial Projects
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
