ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

We Search People are looking for an Architectural Designer to join our client in their office based in Newton, MA.

They are a very well established Design & Build residential home builder, who build both custom & track homes. They are offering a long-term permanent position working within an excellent culture. RESPONSIBILITIES

– Acts as the point of contact between clients, Principals and Project Managers.
– Works in close collaboration with Principal/Lead Designer and other staff on all aspects of design and its development.
– Assists with a wide range of projects on both speculative developments and private clients.
– Responsible for taking a project from inception through construction documents.
– Assists in preparing drawing sets for jurisdictional design review (historical commission, conservation commission, zoning board, planning board, etc.) and construction permit application(s).
– Communicates and coordinates drawings with other project consultants (civil, survey, structural, MEP, etc.).
– Researches local zoning codes, relevant contextual development, planning initiatives, and precedent.
– Attends jurisdictional design review meetings (after 6PM as is required) and client meetings (in office and at client’s homes).
– Produces project documentation for all project phases.
– Designs and produces brochures, newsletters and other marketing materials.
– All other duties, as assigned or needing to be accomplished.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position you will possess the following skills, attributes, and abilities:

– A Bachelor’s degree preferred in architecture is required
– 4+ years’ professional residential wood frame structure experience required.
– Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, required
– Professional registration required
– Project scheduling experience, ProCore, Mavenlink, MS Project and, or other scheduling programs, required.
-Working knowledge in Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop, preferred.
